DJ Moore
Nova has DJ Moore 60th overall, Tier 6, 26.3 VORP, and the room is drafting him at ADP 66. That's a modest lean toward Moore, not a table-pound (the page's displayed \"+8 edge\" runs a touch hot against the raw 6-spot gap between rank and ADP; we report both). The real story is the shape of the bet: a 29-year-old coming off a career-worst season, traded to Josh Allen's huddle, carrying an H-grade DNA and a 20% weekly boom rate. You're not drafting a floor.
Where He's Expected to Land
Nova's median sim gives Moore 188 PPR points at 11.35 per game, 64.4 catches, 791.5 receiving yards, 5.6 touchdowns, plus 57 rushing yards across a projected 16.5 games. The likely finish range spans WR18 to WR66, which is less a projection than a confession: this profile is wide open.
The weekly distribution says the same thing. 37% bust weeks (under 10 PPR points), 43% solid, 20% boom. That H-grade DNA means you'll start him in weeks he gives you 2 and bench him in weeks he gives you 23, unless you draft him at a price where that volatility is the feature, not the bug. Bye week 7.

The trajectory reads like a cliff: 1,364 yards to 966 to 682, with per-game scoring dropping nearly half in two years. But the table hides the context. Moore never missed a game, 51 straight starts, and his 2025 collapse came in Ben Johnson's first Chicago offense, where his target volume was cut from 140 to 85 as the Bears fed Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III. Fifty catches on 85 targets isn't a player who forgot how to separate; it's a player an offense stopped scheming for.
What Changed for Him This Offseason
Everything. On March 5, 2026, Chicago traded Moore and a 2026 fifth-round pick to Buffalo for a 2026 second-rounder, clearing $16.5 million in cap for the Bears while Buffalo absorbed his $28.5 million 2026 cap number. Moore told reporters his Chicago tenure "ran its course," and said of Allen: "He's a field general... I just want to be a part of that" (NFL.com, March 13, 2026).
He turns 30 next April, so this is the age band where receivers either get one more prime year out of a quarterback upgrade or confirm the decline. Nova's 188-point median splits that question almost exactly down the middle.
What Changed Around Him
Buffalo's whole command structure turned over. Sean McDermott was fired after the January 17 divisional-round loss to Denver, and OC Joe Brady was promoted to head coach on January 28 (ESPN). Pete Carmichael Jr. steps in as offensive coordinator. Brady matters here twice: he coached Moore's best stretch in Carolina, 1,100-plus yards in each of their two seasons together, including 18.1 yards per catch in 2020, and his Buffalo offenses lean run-heavy, with designed-run rate climbing to 44.2% (fourth in the NFL) since he took over play-calling, per ESPN. Elite offense, first in EPA per play, but not a target volcano.
The target tree is the draw. Khalil Shakir works the slot, Dalton Kincaid the seams, and the outfield behind Moore is Joshua Palmer, Keon Coleman, and Skyler Bell. Nobody in that group cleared 821 receiving yards in the past two seasons. Moore walks in as the presumptive X receiver, Nova projects an 85% snap share, on the best offense he's ever played in.
What They're Saying
Allen called Moore "a pretty seamless fit" who is "going to be a huge help" for the 2026 offense, per NFL.com's Nick Shook (June 27, 2026). NFL.com's Jeremy Bergman added a usage note with an edge to it: Moore "will be looked at to bring along the embattled Coleman, who got called out by owner Terry Pegula in January" (July 6, 2026, via Heavy), mentor duties, but also confirmation Moore is the veteran the offense runs through outside.
The skeptics are loud too. Bleacher Report's Moe Moton re-graded the trade a C for Buffalo in July, arguing the Bills paid a second-rounder for "a player who hasn't eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards since 2023." Nova's projection effectively agrees with Moton on volume, 791.5 yards is no renaissance, while agreeing with Buffalo on role. Both things price in.
The Buzz
Fantasy media has planted its flag on the optimistic side: SI Fantasy lists Moore among the AFC East's top sleepers and values, and Bills blogs keep calling the trade "wildly overlooked." FantasyPros' expert consensus slots him WR26, noticeably richer than the room's actual draft price. So the crowd's mouths are ahead of their picks: everyone writes the bounce-back column, nobody spends the fifth-rounder. Nova sits between the two, closer to the draft room than to the takes.
Swing Factors
- Target share (±45 pts): Nova projects 16%, WR3 territory. If Moore commands the 22-25% an Allen WR1 historically sees, the median is 40-plus points light.
- Touchdown conversion (±25 pts): Nova says 5.6 receiving TDs; DraftKings hangs the line at 6.5 with 44% implied on the over. Red-zone gravity near Allen is the cheapest path to boom weeks.
- Brady's run rate (−20 pts): a 44%-designed-run offense caps every Bills pass-catcher's volume. Already in the projection; it gets worse if Buffalo plays with leads all year.
- Age curve (−30 pts): three straight years of declining yards per season. If 2025 was decline rather than scheme, no quarterback fixes it.
- Coleman's development (±15 pts): if the 2024 second-rounder finally hits, Moore's air-yards share (Nova: 20%) shrinks.
If Everything Goes Right / If Everything Goes Wrong
If everything goes right: the Carolina-era Brady chemistry is real, Moore soaks up the alpha targets Buffalo hasn't given anyone since Stefon Diggs left in 2024, and the touchdown line lands closer to Vegas's 6.5 than Nova's 5.6. That's the 323-point ceiling, a WR18-caliber season bought at pick 66. Nova prices a tier-2-or-better outcome at 35%, and a genuine tier-1 season at 17%.
If everything goes wrong: 2025 wasn't Ben Johnson's fault, the 16% target share holds in a run-first offense, and the 37% weekly bust rate turns your flex spot into a coin flip you keep losing. The floor of the distribution is 72 points, a droppable WR6 by October. With H-grade DNA, the bad version doesn't fade politely; it whipsaws.
Nova's Edge
Two things the consensus columns won't tell you. First, the Vegas cross-check: Nova leans under DraftKings on both Moore props, 791.5 projected receiving yards against a juiced 824.5 line (51% implied over), and 5.6 TDs against 6.5 (44% over). The market is paying for the bounce-back story; the model is paying for the player. When our number sits below a line the books are already shading, that's a real disagreement, not noise.
Second, the distribution insight: Moore's 188-point median is unremarkable, but a 35% P(tier-2+) is fat for Tier 6. Most players at pick 66 are what they are. Moore is two different players, the 17% tier-1 sim and the 37%-bust-rate sim, sharing one ADP. Draft him for the right tail or don't draft him at all.
The Bottom Line
At ADP 66, the turn of rounds 5 and 6 in 12-team leagues, Moore is a fair-to-slightly-cheap price for the range of outcomes, and Nova's +6-spot lean says take him at cost, don't reach past pick 55 for him. Build him in as your WR3 or flex with a stable WR2 already rostered; in best ball, bump him a round, because 20% boom weeks score themselves there. The Allen stack is live in tournaments precisely because the market hasn't paid for it yet.
The gradeable claim: Nova gives Moore a 35% shot at a tier-2-or-better season and projects 791.5 receiving yards, under the 824.5 Vegas line. If he clears 900, we missed the bounce-back; if he lands under 800 again, the C-grade crowd was right and so were we.
