Gus Edwards

Nova has Gus Edwards 204th overall, Tier 7, -65.7 VORP, a 7.9 PPR/game budget that belongs on a wire-only watchlist. Normally that's where the story would end. It doesn't here, because the number that actually decides his 2026 isn't on Nova's page at all: as of July 11, Edwards is an unrestricted free agent, and the Chargers' own training-camp roster rundown doesn't include his name. Nova still tags him LAC, his most recent team of record, but "unsigned running back in July" is the real headline, and it's bigger than any tier.

Where He's Expected to Land

Nova projects roughly 106 points across a full season if he's rostered somewhere, a 7.56 PPG pace that would rank him deep behind every clear starter and most handcuffs. There's no market ADP to measure that against, Nova's site notes flatly that "this is Nova's read alone." His DNA grade is H (high variance), and Nova's own distribution assumes a full 17-game slate on somebody's active roster, an assumption that's shakier than usual for this player specifically.

The Chargers released him in March 2025, and per Spotrac he did not appear in a game anywhere in 2025.

A February 28 BoltBeat piece by G.C. Bellchamber floated a reunion for a different injured veteran back, Najee Harris, as a value add for the room; Edwards wasn't part of that conversation either. No beat writer covering the Chargers has connected his name to the 2026 roster since his release.

There isn't any. Fantasy social chatter around deep-bench backs concentrates on players with a defined path to touches; Edwards, unsigned in mid-July, doesn't generate boom/bust debate because he doesn't generate a debate at all.
