Divergence Watch

Divergence Watch surfaces where NovaPredict most disagrees with the betting market, in both directions. Live and uncertainty-adjusted.

Divergence Watch is NovaPredict's research tool for finding disagreement with the market. NovaPredict treats the sharpest betting lines as the baseline of what is knowable about a player, so when Nova's projection sits meaningfully above or below that baseline, it matters. Divergence Watch surfaces those gaps in both directions: players Nova is higher on than the market, and players Nova is lower on. Each gap is expressed as a Divergence Score, an uncertainty-adjusted measure of how far Nova's projection sits from the Vegas market. This is where an edge lives, and this tool is where you look for it.

What It Does

  • Surfaces the players where Nova's projection most disagrees with the Vegas betting market.
  • Works in both directions: positive Divergence means Nova is higher than the market, negative means Nova is lower.
  • Scales each disagreement for uncertainty, so a small gap on a stable player and a large gap on a volatile one are compared fairly.
  • Runs live off the current Vegas prop market, not a static snapshot.
  • Pairs with the Preseason Rankings board, where the same Divergence Score appears per player.

What It Does Not Do

  • It does not publish the formula behind the Divergence Score. NovaPredict describes what its outputs mean, not how they are computed.
  • It does not treat every divergence as a recommendation. A divergence is a flagged disagreement worth investigating, not an automatic buy or fade signal.
  • It does not claim a historical hit rate on its divergences. NovaPredict publishes no backtested accuracy numbers; the public record starts Week 1 of the 2026 season.
  • It does not show one-directional homer picks. Nova being lower than the market is surfaced just as prominently as Nova being higher.

Status

Live now. Divergence runs off the live Vegas prop market and is available today, along with the board and value engine it draws from. The graded public record of how these calls perform begins Week 1 of the 2026 season.
